Pachauri: shoot the messenger

“The hacking [no evidence of that; most likely a leak by a CRU whistleblower] of emails from a leading British climate research centre is a “terrible and illegal act”, according to Rajendra Pachauri, chairman of the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) advising the UN negotiations on climate.

“I think this is an illegal act. The only issue that has to be dealt with as far as this occurrence is concerned is to find out who is behind it,” Mr. Pachauri told a press conference according to AFP.” “Top UN scientist: What Climategate?

“Pachauri is a railway engineer and enthusiastic amateur cricketer who happens to chair the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change but he is not a climate scientist, nor has he ever done any research in the field. He might be a better bowler but I’m pretty sure my mother could take him in atmospheric physics (she doesn’t bat too badly, either).” Junk Science, Dec. 8
